UAMS Family Medicine Interest Group
 

The UAMS Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG) works to increase awareness of and stimulate interest in the specialty of Family Medicine. It is co-sponsored by the Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Program, the Arkansas Academy of Family Physicians, and the UAMS Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. 

FMIG Goals:
* Provide information on careers available in family medicine
* Encourage communication between family physicians and FMIG members
* Provide leadership opportunities
* Facilitate communication concerning the specialty of family medicine through forums, presentations and workshops
* Inform FMIG members of current issues affecting the practice of medicine
* Provide members with opportunities for involvement in the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and the Arkansas Academy of Family Physicians (ArAFP)
