Mrs. Schaffer earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She completed her Nurse Practitioner training and a Master of Science in Nursing in family health nursing from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock.

She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She has been an Intensive Care Nurse at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, AR and a Pediatric Nurse at Saint Edwards Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, AR. In addition, she has spent many hours training under physicians and advanced practice nurses in the Fort Smith, AR area. Halie joined AHEC in 2010 as an Advanced Practice Nurse.

She and her husband, Jonas Schaffer, have two children and are both natives of Charleston, AR where they currently reside. In her spare time she enjoys reading, cooking, hiking and camping.
