Peggy earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Arkansas Tech University. She completed her nurse practitioner training and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Alabama. She was born in Mobile, AL and still loves the Gulf Coast. She likes the motivating, challenging environment of AHEC. "There is always an opportunity for learning, developing new skills and teaching others with the direction and collaboration of highly educated/experienced faculty. All of the staff and faculty are friendly and willing to work as a team to provide quality care."
She moved to the “small town” of Fort Smith 10 years ago, after having lived in large metroplexes such as Dallas-Ft Worth, Washington DC and Knoxville, Tn. She found the slower pace, the small family owned businesses and less traffic to be very appealing. She loves to take advantage of the opportunity to see any cultural event that comes to the convention center (and the Little Theater.)
As a nurse and a nurse practitioner, she has a fondness for caring for children and adolescents with chronic illness. She also enjoyed being a pediatric kidney transplant coordinator. Recently caring for the elderly has interested her.
When she is not in the clinic, she enjoy time with her husband, children, grandchildren and friends. She loves to read, travel, cook, swim, water ski, and play with her “furry children.”
