Community Education

The Community Education Department at UAMS AHEC Southwest helps people to live healthy. Our team of staff provides local and regional outreach programs with a focus on health, wellness and prevention. It is our goal to reach into the communities we serve and make a difference in the lives of our neighbors.

We work with local health units, hospitals and clinics, churches, schools, and non-profit organizations to provide health education programs and information.

Our community education programs include:
• Breast health education
• Chronic Disease Self-Management Program
• Community Health Worker training
• CPR training
• Diabetes education
• Health education presentations
• Health careers recruitment
• Tobacco prevention and education
• Youth leadership development

A description of all of our programs can be found under the Community Education Programs section. For more information about any of our programs, please call 870.779.6010 or E-mail Us.
