Program Information

 

17 Month Program
Texarkana serves as a clinical site for students in the Medical Technology program via UAMS in Little Rock. The program consists of 17 months (three semesters + one summer session) of full-time formal curriculum. Students in their junior year (two semesters) may opt to take their courses through online lectures and virtual labs or attend lecture and labs on campus in Little Rock. The senior year of the Medical Technology program consists of one semester plus one summer session of clinical laboratory experience at CHRISTUS St. Michael Laboratory in areas of : Chemistry, Microbiology, Hematology, Urinalysis, Phlebotomy, Immunology, & Blood Bank.

All Texarkana Medical Technology Students take their exams in the 3rd floor computer lab at UAMS AHEC Southwest.

Upon completion of the program, students receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from UAMS in Little Rock and are eligible to take the national registry.
