Primary care is defined by the Arkansas Rural Medical Practice Student Loan and Scholarship Board as Family Medicine, general Internal Medicine, general Pediatrics, general Internal Medicine/Pediatrics, general Obstetrics/Gynecology, general Surgery, and Emergency Medicine.  For students signing contracts after 2009, Geriatrics was added to the list of specialties.
